VoisIT is a collection of Faroese speech and text technology tools from iSolveIT. At its core is speech recognition, which converts spoken Faroese into text, but VoisIT now also includes text-to-speech and various solutions that make it possible to dictate directly wherever you are working. The speech recognition uses a Faroese sound model made by Carlos Mena and Annika Simonsen that is mainly built on the BLARK by the Ravnur Project.
VoisIT App
The VoisIT app is available for iPhone and Android. In the app, you can speak Faroese and have your speech converted into text. You can edit the text, create your own dictionary and word rules, use automatic punctuation, and use text-to-speech to have text read aloud.
VoisIT Keyboard
There is also a separate app for iPhone called VoisIT Keyboard. It adds a VoisIT keyboard to your phone, allowing you to dictate Faroese text directly into other apps, for example in chat messages, emails, and other places where you would normally type using the keyboard.
Windows
On Windows, there is a similar solution that makes it possible to type using your voice directly in programs on your computer. VoisIT can, for example, insert text into Word, email, Messenger, and other applications, as long as text can be entered there.
Web
VoisIT also has a web platform. There you can use Faroese text-to-speech with several different voices and have Faroese text read aloud. On the same platform, you can also upload audio files and have them transcribed into text.
