Online Spellchecker
With this useful tool you can spellcheck your text on all devices as long as you have an internet connection and access to a web browser. Simply click on the ABC icon on the upper left corner and select Languages. Then you choose Faroese and click OK. Please note: Choose Options in order to see the OK button.
Spellchecker on your Computer
By using the programme Divvun Manager it is possible to get the Faroese Spellchecker installed on your computer. Download and install for Windows or Mac and install the programme on your computer. Then you choose and install Faroese in Divvun Manager. You can read this guide (in Faroese) on how you install Divvun Manager and Faroese spell checking on your computer. On Windows it works for Word and Libre Office and on Mac it works for Libre Office and "system wide," and please note that the automatic language selection for Faroese does not work on Mac, so you have to choose Faroese in the spelling settings.
Grammar Checker for Word Online
With the add-on Divvun Grammar Checker you can check for lexical and a few grammatical errors on Word Online (and on Word on your computer).
The easiest way to do this is to go directly to the Add-Ins on Word/Word Online, search for Divvun Grammar Checker, and install it.
Alternatively, you can press the button below and link the add-in to your Microsoft Account. If you do not see the add-in under the Home tab on Word/Word Online after linking it to your account, please open the Add-ons menu and choose More Add-ins. Then you choose Divvun Grammar Checker and press Add. If you can't find Divvun Grammar Checker, press My Add-ins and then Update on the upper right-hand corner. If nothing appears, you have not added Divvun Grammar Checker correctly to your Microsoft account.
Once you can see the add-in, select the language (Faroese) and then Check. Please note: This add-in will not give you any red lines under misspelled words; the corrections have to be made from inside the add-in on the right-hand side.
Grammar Checker for Google Docs
Divvun Grammar Checker is an add-on that can correct spelling errors and a few grammatical errors on Google Docs.
The easiest way to install it is directly from Google Docs: Open a Docs document, go to Extensions > Add-ons > Get add-ons, search for Divvun Grammar Checker, and install it.
You can also press the button below and link the add-on to your Google account, and then you will see Divvun Grammar Checker under Extensions at the top while you have a Google Docs document open. Then choose Divvun Grammar Checker > Grammar Check. If you are not able to see the Extensions tab, one possible reason might be that your document is in docx format.
Once you have succeeded in opening the add-on, choose the language (Føroyskt) and then Run Grammar Check. Please note: This add-on will not give you any red lines under misspelled words; the corrections only show up inside the add-on on the right-hand side.

Because of the fact that the Faroese spellchecker is made with an open source code it is possible to take a look at the data behind it. On the Github page of Giellatekno you can have a look at the lexicons, declensions and conjugations and more. You are not able to edit without permission.
