Marka is a demo page where you can try annotating Faroese text with the BRAGD tagger created by the Centre for Language Technology. Enter a sentence or a short text in the text field and click "Marka." You will then get a table where each word is shown together with its BRAGD tag and an explanation of the tag. The tag shows the word class and other grammatical features such as gender, number, case, tense, mood, and person.
The result can be displayed in Faroese or English, and the tables can be downloaded as TSV files.
The tool is built on BRAGD, a part-of-speech tagger for Faroese. The tagger is based on ScandiBERT and has been trained on the annotated text corpora Sosialurin-BRAGD, consisting of news articles, and OOD-BRAGD, consisting of various text types.
