Barbara Scalvini at the Faculty of Science and Technology at the University of the Faroe Islands, in collaboration with the Centre for Language Technology, has developed a machine translator.
The translator is using this language model, which is an adapted version of the GPT-SW3 language model. The adapted language model has been trained with Faroese text so that it can better translate texts between Faroese and other languages.
Please note that this is a trial page, so the translation will take while, and only one translation can take place at a time. This means that if someone else is using the translator when you start, you will end up in a queue. Your translation will start as soon as the previous translation is finished. You can see this at the top right corner after you start. If it says “queue: 1/1,” it means you are number 1 in the queue and there is already a translation in progress. If it says “queue: 2/2,” you are number 2 in the queue, and so on.
